No, nada que ver con el libro de George Orwell, sino con mis recuerdos de niño rocker. Ya había comentado que mi primer contacto visual con música de rock era un programa de videos del canal 5 XHGC (estas dos últimas siglas corresponden a los apellidos del famoso inventor mexicano de la televisión a color: Guillermo González Camarena) llamado atinadamente VIDEO ROCK.

También coincidió esa época con la llegada de la modernidad en la casa de la familia Ortega-Gudiño: mi padre compró una video cassetera Beta marca Sony (obviamente). El mencionado artículo de lujo, estuvo empacado varios meses, hasta que cedieron ante mi insistencia en que rompieramos la envoltura fayuquera del mencionado artefacto.

Para que el nuevo usuario tuviera oportunidad de capturar para el futuro algunas escenas televisivas, la video incluía un cassete de alrededor de 20 minutos de capacidad de grabacion en alta calidad (se llamaba SP, no?). Yo, ni tardo ni perezoso decidí grabar videos musicales: los que pude grabar en esa ocasión fueron los siguiente 4 videos que hoy incluyo en el blog, con sus respetivas letras (porque hace mucho que subía nada).

¿Quién sobrevive de esta gran camada de artistas pop del 84? Lo digo también literalmente: algunos de ellos seguro están muertos. Creo que sobreviven con chamba (o algo que hacer): U2, Phil Collins, Duran Duran y George Michael (este último molestando señores mayores en algún baño público, que después resultan ser cuicos encubiertos).

Que escenarios mas impresionantes: la verdad en este video lucen mucho mejor que en los otros dos (el de Río y Hungry like the wolf) que grabaron ahí mismo. Además la rola es buenísima.

¿Cuántas veces he tarareado ese riff de entrada en mi mente? De hecho fue una de las primeras cosas que intenté tocar cuando compré mi primer bajo eléctrico. Chida la rola, sólo que aquel cassete beta sólo se podían ver 75% del video, porque la cinta se había acabado.
